I have a deep interest in improving pedagogical practice. At Harvard, I worked extensively with the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning, serving as the History Department’s Lead Teaching Fellow (2006–2007) as well as participating in the Christensen Discussion Seminar (Fall 2006) and Graduate Writing Fellows Program (Spring 2005).

In fall 2008 I introduced a Teaching Colloquium into Harvard’s graduate History curriculum. Developed in concert with the Bok Center and the History Department, the colloquium introduced first-time teachers to relevant scholarship in teaching and learning in an effort to make them more mindful, and more experimental, in their teaching.
