I have a deep interest in improving pedagogical practice. At Harvard, I worked extensively with the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning, serving as the History Department’s Lead Teaching Fellow (2006-2007) as well as participating in the Christensen Discussion Seminar (Fall 2006) and Graduate Writing Fellows Program (Spring 2005).
In fall 2008 I introduced a Teaching Colloquium into Harvard’s graduate History curriculum. Developed in concert with the Bok Center and the History Department, the colloquium introduced first-time teachers to relevant scholarship in teaching and learning in an effort to make them more mindful, and more experimental, in their teaching.
